Expensive Textbooks – Is Renting the Solution?

Usually college students do not have much money left after paying their expenses. Usually it is seen in the present-day, that a student pays for his or her own college education, by doing part-time jobs in delis, supermarkets, malls, and other places, and doing odd jobs. In my opinion getting very textbooks is pretty easy to do but you just have to do it. Then renting may be the way to go.

The average student will spend % of their tuition costs on textbooks while attending college. Nobody could possibly blame you for feeling that way, given the fact that these school bookstores are pricing their brand new textbooks at really high prices. The cost of a college education is on the rise. But remember to keep your books in good condition, because you can resell them and invest that money in books for the next semester. And third of all, what do you think you will receive as far as a buy back price on your textbook?

Many of the online places only sold new books – so there was not much of a savings offered – especially when shipping and handling was added into the cost. That being said, it is simply not economically practical to purchase new textbooks when there is a very viable option available such as textbook rental. Is it a book that you know you aren’t going to want to keep? The average cost of tuition for college annually at a four year private school is around $0,000 these days. Another way to lessen the money spent on book rentals is by availing promos that are held by many online book rental companies out there. The publishers set the prices. There are many different types of plans that rental companies can offer a student who is interested in textbook rentals. Your college bookstore has no control.

Why would they? Choosing to rent a textbook, you will save yourself time and money. Most students do not require these extras; however, they are forced to give more money because of these extras. Purchasing brand new textbooks at campus bookstores is very expensive and the cost of several books can amount to a staggering sum. And sometimes you get a book that has had its cover removed or pages missing. Luckily the internet has created an avenue where it is fairly easy to find cheap textbooks for college students – but you have to know where to look.

Most textbooks are overpriced, because they come in packages, which might include CDs and other supplementary materials. Even though it is true that college bookstores buy back the books, the prices offered are normally around half of what you paid for it. It would be a really great idea for a student to purchase a used textbook that would meet his or her needs, and one would not have to pay a great deal for it. Just remember you get what you pay for. The cost of a college education is on the rise.
